November and December are the busiest months of the year in the distribution industry, and there is hard work being done at webshops and carriers so that Christmas gifts are delivered before Christmas - and we also feel it at Shipmondo. In the often-hectic Christmas season, consumers are looking for easy and quick solutions when it comes to buying Christmas gifts, and online stores offer this. Year after year, both Black Friday and December set new records - and 2020 is no exception.
Online shopping during Christmas 2020
Christmas shopping starts earlier and earlier, and Black Friday in particular is the kickstarter to it. But Christmas shopping is not quite as it used to be due to the world situation with covid-19. The explosive increase in the number of consumers who have made their Christmas purchases online is not only due to easy and quick solutions. It is also about the feeling of security and by shopping online, the consumer avoids long queues and the risk of infection - which also means that the number of home deliveries has increased.
As the graph above shows, November and December are the two months in which most orders were placed by Shipmondo’s customers. And in particular, Black Week and Black Friday have set new records, with up to 89% more orders from Shipmondo’s customers compared to last year.

At the end of October, we launched our collaboration with PostNord on adding the foundation’s logo (julemærket) on labels - which received a warm welcome from you, our customers. You are crazy about it, and we understand that! We have made it possible for our customers to choose to add the foundation’s logo (julemærket) for free when sending with PostNord Denmark on our shipping agreement. That means it couldn’t be any easier for you to support a good cause - free of charge!

The Christmas month at Shipmondo
When our customers are busy, we are busy too! Even though nothing is as it used to be and many of us are still working from home, we continue to work hard to achieve our goals and provide our customers with the best-possible service. The same goes for our carriers; they are doing everything they can to get the last packages out before Christmas.

Now it’s not long until Christmas, and so we want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.
