Use automatic translation to translate your documents, such as packing slips, in Shipmondo.
When documents are used across countries, teams and markets, language quickly becomes a decisive factor. With the Translation Tool in Shipmondo, you get one unified tool to work systematically with document translations, whether for internal employees or customers abroad.
The feature gives you full control over translation keys, languages and document types, and it works closely together with our Document Designer, ensuring that both content and layout are aligned.
Affected documents in the translation tool
In Shipmondo, you work with several document types in your daily operations. Translations of translation keys can be used across the following documents:
Translations in Shipmondo are built around translation keys. A translation key is a text string that can be used on one or multiple documents.
By using translation keys, you ensure that the same translations are used consistently across different documents, regardless of which language the document is displayed in.
By default, translation keys are available in a standard selection of languages. However, you can easily and quickly add an unlimited number of additional languages if needed, and just as easily translate the different keys into those languages.
Choose your primary language
You decide which language should be the primary language on your documents. The primary language is set to English by default, while the other languages are used as translations.
The primary language is the language the system falls back to if you have not set up a language for a specific country, for example France. So if an order is placed by a French customer and French is not set up, the document will be created in your primary language.
This makes it easy to adapt packing slips to different markets without having to maintain multiple versions manually.
Create and manage translation keys flexibly and automatically
A translation key can be used on a single document type, for example only a packing slip, or across multiple documents at the same time. This gives you a flexible setup where you can easily reuse keys and translations across documents.
In the overview of translation keys, you can always see how many keys have been created, which languages are available, and what proportion of the keys have been translated into each language.
This makes it easy to identify gaps and ensure that your documents are ready before you activate a new language. And to get started quickly, you can use Shipmondo’s automatic translation feature. This way, all keys are translated in just a few seconds.
Afterwards, you can always adjust the texts manually if you want different translations than the automatic ones, so they match your tone of voice exactly.
Adapt design and content with Document Designer
Translations are closely connected to how your documents look. With the Document Designer, you can customise and design your documents exactly as you need them, both in terms of layout, fields and content.
The combination of the Translation Tool and the Document Designer gives you:
- Consistent documents across languages
- Full control over both text and design
- A setup that can scale as your needs change
So if you create new keys in your documents, you can use the translation tool to translate them, helping you work more efficiently and avoid manual work.
