KiMs and Pandasia have drastically reduced their picking errors with digital pick paths, while also making warehouse operations more efficient and improving employee satisfaction - resulting in a better customer experience.

When order volumes increase, the risk of errors typically rises along with them. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In a modern e-commerce business, logistics is the backbone. For many companies, however, the picking process becomes a bottleneck when growth really takes off. Manual workflows with printed picking lists often lead to errors, unnecessary walking in the warehouse, and frustration among both employees and customers.

At Shipmondo, digital pick paths were developed specifically to solve these challenges. And the results among our customers speak for themselves: KiMs and Pandasia have found an effective way to reduce their picking errors to almost 0%.

From paper pick lists to digital pick paths

KiMs and Pandasia are very different companies, yet they have faced the same challenge. KiMs is part of Orkla Danmark, and since 2019 they have been selling their snacks directly to customers via a webshop - not least to reduce food waste.

Pandasia started as an entrepreneurial dream with a small stockroom in a childhood bedroom and a container in the backyard, but has quickly grown into a modern warehouse of more than 600 sqm with 16 employees and around 180 orders per day.

Despite their differences, both companies struggled with the same issue: too many picking errors and processes that became too slow as order volumes increased.

Reducing picking errors from 4% to 0%

Digital pick paths minimize errors

KiMs previously had an error rate of 4%, while Pandasia’s was 2%. Both found that manual picking with printed pick lists led to extra work, stress, and unhappy customers.

The solution for both companies was Shipmondo’s digital pick paths.

With handheld scanners, product images, and order check with scanning, the system ensures that the right items in the right quantities are picked - and both companies report that their picking errors have now been reduced to almost 0%.

Emma Baunehøj, E-Commerce Coordinator, from KiMs explains:

We aim to keep monthly picking errors below 2%, but we always seemed to exceed that slightly. After getting new scanners and transitioning to digital pick paths, we’ve reduced picking errors to nearly zero.

By scanning each individual product during picking, they ensure that the right bag of chips ends up in the right box every single time.

Faster onboarding and happier employees

In addition to reducing picking errors, digital pick paths also make onboarding new employees much easier. The system clearly shows what to pick and in which order, significantly reducing the risk of beginner mistakes.

AnhDu Vu, founder of Pandasia, shares:

For our employees, including many young workers, Shipmondo’s system is easy to learn and use, allowing them to work more independently and with less stress. This creates a more satisfying workday and increases employee satisfaction.

With our digital picking solution, the system suggests the most optimized route through the warehouse, shows product images, and allows multiple orders to be handled at the same time without increasing the risk of errors.

KiMs Delivery Analysis

Data and analytics create overview and efficiency

Digital pick paths also provide both companies with valuable data at no extra effort through Shipmondo’s analytics tools.

With tools such as Shipmondo Pick Path Analytics and Fulfillment Analytics, KiMs can quickly identify which products most often cause issues and how employees are performing.

Pandasia also uses analytics data to optimize warehouse layout, product placement, and staffing plans based on real needs rather than gut feeling.

Emma from KiMs explains:

Now, I always have the data at my fingertips, automatically.

Automatic overview of errors and processes

Digital pick paths enable faster workflows and make it possible to scale the business without losing control of errors. KiMs saves time on reshipments, Pandasia can handle far more orders, and both experience fewer mistakes and more satisfied customers.

AnhDu explains:

Shipmondo also offers excellent scalability, making them an ideal partner to grow with. This will be especially important as we prepare to expand our operations to Sweden. We’re confident that Shipmondo will play a key role in this journey and help us succeed in the Swedish market.

The results are clear: both KiMs and Pandasia have reduced errors, created faster workflows, and achieved happier employees. Digital picking routes can therefore help increase efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction – regardless of company size or growth pace.
