Do you have a webshop in Belgium, or do you just need to send packages in Belgium? Now you can do it with the national carrier bpost. Read on here and find out more about what bpost can offer you, and how you can easily ship with the Belgian carrier through Shipmondo - both on our shipping agreement or through your own.
About bpost
bpost is also known as the Belgian Post Group and is one of the largest carriers in Belgium, with its headquarters located in Brussels. They run under the motto “bpost takes care of it” and with over 10,000 postmen and more than 3.100 pick-up points, bpost is a familiar face for Belgian consumers.
More than being an experienced national carrier in Belgium, bpost can also handle international shipments - both to EU countries and to the rest of the world.
bpost has a desire to deliver parcels even more sustainably, and therefore 10% of their deliveries will be emission-free by the end of 2022, while by the end of 2023 it will be 20% of their deliveries. They compensate for the CO2 emissions they cannot yet avoid, and they have created new ecozones, which are urban areas with many parcel lockers and pick-up points, where they can deliver emission-free parcels.
bpost shipping products
There are many different options with bpost. Through Shipmondo, you can send parcels domestically in Belgium to home addresses, delivery points and parcel boxes, and it is also possible to let the carrier handle your returned goods.
They call their standard product bpack 24h Pro, which is delivery to private adresses, but there are also products like bpack Pro (delivery to service point), bpack 24/7 (delivery to parcel locker) and bpack Retour (return to a business address).
bpost strives to offer a day-to-day delivery for all national shipments.
It is also possible for you to ship from Belgium to other EU countries with bpost but for that you need your own shipping agreement with the carrier.
Additional services
When sending with bpost, you can also choose different services that specify your shipments and give your customers an extra service.
For example, on the shipping products that can be used for domestic shipments in Belgium, you can choose to book a return shipment automatically at the same time as you book a regular shipment by selecting Add return label. That way, an Easy Return shipment will also be booked, so that your customers can easily return the package. In some situations, it will be possible for your customers to hand over the return to the postman during a delivery. For example, they can give the driver the return package when he is out delivering parcels.
You can also choose more day-specific deliveries with, for example, Saturday delivery, by which bpost will deliver your package on a Saturday. Or, with Automatic second presentation, in the event of an unsuccessful delivery attempt, you can choose to have the shipment delivered once more, before it is returned to the sender. With Signature required, you can specify the requirement for a signature upon receipt of the package.
In addition, you can give your customers various pieces of information, such as that the package will be delivered the next day (Info next day), or remind the recipient that the shipment is ready for pick-up somewhere (Info reminder). If you wish, you can also be informed when the package has been delivered with Info distributed. In Shipmondo it is also possible to set up your own personalized message to the recipient, where you decide the content of the message with the option to include a tracking link, you can design the message yourself, and you choose which language it should be written in. You can send a personalized message as both e-mail and/or SMS. It is a good service that allows the customer to follow the delivery process.
