Shipment template

A shipment template is a template that makes it faster and easier to book freight for your orders. Put turbo on your shipping and send parcels today.

What is a shipment template?

A shipment template, also called a shipment template, is a template in Shipmondo that makes it faster and easier to create shipments. It is used to save fixed selections and information, so you do not have to enter the same details every time.

This is especially relevant if you often ship with the same carrier, the same freight product, or the same freight agreement. You can, among other things, set up carrier, freight product, freight agreement, number of parcels, weight class, as well as various add-ons and services.

Shipment templates can be used in several places in Shipmondo, for example in your order integration, return portal, and when manually creating shipments. You can also choose a preferred template, so it is automatically used for manual shipments or in places where a setup is missing.

Preferred selection for manual creation

You can choose one shipment template as your preferred template when manually creating shipments.

When it is chosen as preferred, the template is automatically filled in with the selected information, for example carrier, freight product, and other relevant settings.

You can only have one preferred template at a time. If there is a tick in the Preferred template field, this means that the template is automatically selected when you create a manual shipment.

Use a shipment template for your Return Portal

With a Shipmondo Return Portal, your customers can fill in and create a return label and a return slip themselves.

When you set up your Shipmondo Return Portal, you need to attach a template.

It can be beneficial to create a shipment template with your recipient details, which the return parcel should be sent to, carrier, freight product, and a possible price for the return label.

We recommend that you create a new and separate shipment template for your return portal on your Shipmondo account.

You can customise both language and currency in your return portal, as it supports both domestic and international shipments.

Use shipment templates through order integration

When you have set up your order integration, your orders from your webshop or accounting system are automatically imported to your Shipmondo account together with the delivery method.

You can attach a shipment template to each of your delivery methods, so your shipments are prefilled with the correct carrier, freight product, weight range, and services. In this way, you can achieve full automation of the preparation of your shipments.

You can do this by attaching your shipment templates to your selected delivery methods in the order integration.

Automate your customs documents

When you send parcels to countries outside the EU, you must include relevant customs documents.

Typically, the shipment must be accompanied by a commercial invoice if it concerns the sale of goods. The commercial invoice forms the basis of the customs declaration.

You can also automate your customs declaration through your shipment templates.

When you send to a country that requires customs documents, you will automatically be asked to fill in the customs form in Shipmondo, and you can also set this up in your shipment template. For shipments to Norway, you can, for example, tick VOEC under services and insert your VOEC number under sender details.
