Shopify has started including the correct order total in the data sent to Shipmondo.
This means that shipping methods based on order amount are now calculated using the final price after discounts, rather than the price before discount.
Previously, shipping rules (for example free shipping above a certain amount) were calculated from the order amount before discount, because Shopify’s API did not provide the discounted total. This could result in customers getting free shipping, even though the actual price after discount was below your threshold. This limitation has now been resolved.
Example:
Free shipping on orders above 500 DKK:
- Order value: 500.00 DKK
- Discount: -100.00 DKK
- Final price after iscount: 400.00 DKK
Shipping is now calculated based on 400.00 DKK, and the customer will be charged for shipping correctly, since the final price is below 500.00 DKK.
This also means you no longer need to rely on “automatic discount” workarounds to achieve correct shipping calculations.
The improvement is automatically enabled for all Shopify stores using Shipmondo’s Delivery Checkout app with the Carrier Service API, and does not require any changes to your setup.
