Gordon Delivery: Book without a delivery date and time window

Shipmondo now supports booking Gordon Delivery shipments without a delivery date and time window. In that case, Gordon Delivery assigns the first available delivery window itself.

How delivery details work

Delivery date and time window (from and to) are optional for Gordon Delivery. There are three cases:

• Date, from and to are filled in: The shipment is booked with the selected time window.
• None of them is filled in: Gordon Delivery assigns the first available delivery window when the shipment is booked. The date and time window are saved on the shipment and appear on the label.
• Only some of them are filled in, for example only a date: The booking is rejected with the error message “Delivery date and times must either be filled in or left empty.” Fill in the date, from and to, or remove all of them.

In the Create shipment form, the delivery fields are no longer pre-filled with today’s date for Gordon Delivery. The fields are empty unless you have set up fixed delivery times for Gordon Delivery.

Note! You cannot choose which delivery window Gordon Delivery assigns. If you have general fixed delivery times set up in Shipmondo, the date and time window are still filled in automatically, and the shipment is booked with that time window.

Orders from Delivery Checkout in Shopify and WooCommerce work as before. The time window the customer selected is still used.

Available in the API

Gordon Delivery shipments can also be created without delivery details in the API. The response contains the date and time window that Gordon Delivery assigned. Partially filled delivery details are rejected with the same error message as in Shipmondo’s web portal. See the API documentation for more details.
