Inbound commodity code on DHL Express shipments from Portugal

Shipmondo now automatically sends an inbound commodity code when you book a DHL Express shipment from Portugal to a country outside the EU. DHL Express in Portugal otherwise rejects the booking if the commodity lines are missing the code.

How the inbound code is derived

The inbound code is the first 6 digits of the commodity code on each commodity line. Commodity lines without a commodity code get no inbound code. Shipments from all other countries and shipments from Portugal to EU countries are sent as before.

No setup required

The inbound commodity code on DHL Express shipments from Portugal requires no setup or activation. The code is based on the commodity code you enter yourself, so an incorrect commodity code also results in an incorrect inbound code. Check the commodity code on your commodity lines before you book.

Available in the API

The inbound code is sent on shipments created in Shipmondo’s web portal as well as on shipments created through the API. You don’t need to send anything extra.
