Liquid: New variable for new and returning customers
The Liquid variable order.is_returning_customer shows whether the customer is new or returning, so one template can adapt the text in documents and messages.
Choose PVA on UPS shipments to the UK so the importer doesn't pay import VAT at the border.
Shipmondo now supports Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) on all UPS products to the United Kingdom. With PVA, the importer doesn’t pay import VAT at the border. The VAT is instead settled later in the importer’s VAT return. You can use the service when you ship with UPS on your own agreement.
PVA is selected as a service on the shipment. You also need to specify an importer in the United Kingdom or Northern Ireland with both an EORI number and a VAT number.
The numbers must be entered without spaces and start with the importer’s country code: GB for the United Kingdom and XI for Northern Ireland. Otherwise, the shipment cannot be created.
PVA is available for shipments to the United Kingdom and to Northern Ireland from countries outside the EU. Shipments within the UK are not covered. There is no import VAT from EU countries to Northern Ireland, so PVA is not relevant there.
PVA covers import VAT only, not customs duties. Note! PVA and GB EORI cannot be selected on the same shipment.
Use the service code PVA in your Create shipment request, and specify eori and vat_no under the importer’s attributes. See the API documentation for more details.
